Meet the Team
Yoni Rusnak - Co-Founder
Originally from Australia, Yoni is a film and television editor in Hollywood whose trajectory to success was anything but traditional. Graduating from high school in 2002, his grades were so low he didn’t qualify for university admission. He spent the following two years traveling the globe and working odd jobs ranging from, factory lines in a toilet making factory to forklift operator in a shipping warehouse.
Realizing his path lacked any future prospects, Yoni decided to enlist in the military, hoping it would instill much needed discipline and focus. In 2008, after three years of combat service, he was honorably discharged, freeing him to enroll in night school with the goal of improving his high school grades, and earning admission to university.
At 24, Yoni began his Bachelors degree, majoring in Film and Television Theory. It was during a first-year production course that he discovered editing — and immediately gravitated toward the craft. Fascinated by the process of shaping story from raw dailies, he volunteered to edit classmates’ projects, refining his skills through repetition and collaboration.
At 27, he landed his first industry job, as an overnight digital tape loader, on The Voice Australia. A year later, seeking greater opportunity, he applied for a work-travel visa and moved to the United States, landing in New York City.
Over the next four years, he worked as a Lead Assistant Editor in reality television, absorbing both the technical craft and the pace of high-volume production while setting his sights on one day transitioning into scripted storytelling.
In 2016, at age 31, with a green card in hand, Yoni relocated to Los Angeles, restarting his career for the third time to pursue scripted film and television. Since then, his work has spanned a wide range of projects — from the network drama Major Crimes to streaming series such as Netflix’s Black Rabbit, Apple’s Lisey’s Story, and Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again, as well as feature films including The King of Staten Island and Disney’s Mufasa.
His journey has been anything but linear — marked by late entry, multiple restarts, relocations, and years of incremental progress. That experience, however, has taught him that with the right attitude and approach, anyone from anywhere can make it in Hollywood.
